Located on a battleaxe block in Sandgate and surrounded predominantly by pre-war Queenslander style homes, this house has been designed to maximise outdoor living while ensuring privacy.
The living areas of this house wrap around a double height outdoor room to the East, which through a considered design approach, provides privacy and shelter from the weather while also allowing for large views to the sky and garden beyond.
Responding to the Brisbane City Council’s Character Code, the façade of the building is a modern interpretation of the traditional Queenslander style, making use of pitched roofs, weatherboards and functional timber detailing in a contemporary interpretation of the character style.
Project completed in 2017.
