The idyllic holiday home, which won Queensland Beach House of the Year, consists of two pods. The first is a central hub that includes a kitchen, bathroom and a spacious living and dining area. The second pod is an open plan sleeping / bedroom pod with custom shelves that act as storage and a privacy screen that can be configured in a number of different ways. Both pods are linked together with timber decking and a lush rolling lawn creating the perfect setting to enjoy the stunning views.
With beautiful views came tricky access to the site, access that would have been an obstacle for normal construction works to take place. Being delivered by truck via a barge, the pods were installed in one day, with additional outdoor space built in following weeks. The process was quick and painless and allowed the families to enjoy their award winning home within a matter of weeks.
Knowing they wanted something simple, cost efficient, low maintenance and a design that embraced the natural beauty around them, Happy Haus was an obvious choice.
Project completed in 2009.
